In Nevada – A 40-year-old man pleaded guilty to being high on Meth when he drove his pickup head-on into a car driven by a 42-year-old mother last November, killing her. He also pleaded guilty to driving a car while under the influence of alcohol four months later. When he is sentenced on the felony charges in October, he faces a maximum prison term of 20-years for driving under the influence of a controlled substance causing death and up to six years on the DUI charge.

In Colorado – The 38-year-old man arrested earlier in the week for cooking Meth in a home where officers found two young children during a raid was on probation and had previously been charged with exposing children to Meth.  Officers who were part of the raid on the home found a 2-year-old boy in the arms of his mother in a kitchen stocked with food and Meth chemicals.  They also found a 5-year-old boy in the home, the same child who had earlier been exposed to the suspect’s Meth activities.  The man and his 35-year-old wife were both arrested during this latest raid, on preliminary charges of making Meth and felony child abuse.  The man had been given an eight-year community-corrections sentence after he violated probation in a 2003 drug case with a new drug conviction in 2005.  In 2005, he was charged with making Meth along with three counts of child abuse for exposing the now 5-year-old boy and his older sister to the operation.  Those charges were dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea to drug possession.  The boy was returned to the home; his sister is living somewhere else. After the latest raid, the children went through the decontamination process, were examined at a hospital and placed in foster care.

In Wellington, New Zealand - Police uncovered $70,000 worth of Meth and arrested two people during the ongoing investigation into Meth importation. When officers searched the suspicious home, they found the Meth and arrested the 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman.  They both face charges of importation and possession for supply of Meth.

In South Carolina – A 31-year-man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested after police allegedly found evidence linking them to a Meth lab outside a home.  They both face charges of Meth trafficking and improperly disposing of Meth waste. In addition, the woman is charged with Meth manufacturing and the man has an additional charge of Meth possession.

In Mississippi - A 42-year-old man was arrested after police reportedly shut down a Meth lab in his home.  He had a felony warrant on him for a pseudoephedrine purchase violation.  When officers searched his home and an outbuilding on his property, they allegedly found numerous chemicals and equipment for cooking Meth, along with crystal Meth under his mattress, some Meth that was not yet completely processed and a 12-gauge shotgun.  The suspect reportedly told police he had burned his arm hair and had nearly blown himself up while cooking the Meth in his bathroom.  He faces multiple Meth-related charges.

In California - A sheriff’s department investigation ended with raids on two Meth labs.  At one, four men were arrested on felony charges of manufacturing and selling a controlled substance. At the other, several people were questioned but no one was arrested at the time of the raid.  Between the two locations, officers seized a total of 20-pounds of Meth.

In Michigan – A 21-year-old man was arrested after allegedly trying to steal anhydrous ammonia from a farm and police were searching for a second suspect. Sheriff's deputies found a propane tank attached to an ammonia tank valve when they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on the property.  They saw and stopped a second vehicle, discovering the driver had come to pick up one of the two men suspected of attempting to steal the ammonia. That driver and his passenger were questioned and released.  The 21-year-old man was caught after officers using a K9 unit tracked him down.  He faces charges of stealing anhydrous ammonia and conspiracy to manufacture Meth.  Officers are still searching for a 40-year-old man they believe was an accomplice.
