In Iowa Three people pled guilty to making and selling Meth.  They admitted to traveling into Wisconsin, South Dakota and Minnesota to buy the ingredients, including over one million pseudoephedrine pills.  Over a ten-year period, they cooked as much as 223-pounds of Meth.  A fourth person was convicted on charges of distributing Meth, money laundering and illegal use of firearms over an eight-year period. All four face prison terms from ten years to life and fines of between $250,000 and $8 million.

In California -
Officers raided two homes Wednesday and arrested a 38-year-old man with a long history of Meth production.  At the first home, authorities seized suspected Meth and a loaded semiautomatic handgun.  Police took the suspect into custody at his trailer home and plan to charge him with manufacturing Meth and carrying a loaded firearm.  He pled guilty to two other Meth lab arrests, once in 2000 and again 2003.  He was sentenced to two-years in prison the first time and seven years the second.

In Indiana -
A businessman who pleaded guilty in 2005 to five counts of selling Meth precursors from the back of his grocery store was sentenced in federal court to five years in prison.  The 68-year-old must serve at least 85-percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.  He was arrested in 2004 after Drug Enforcement Administration agents and local officers spent months investigating his store and found he was selling pseudoephedrine by the caseload to known Meth users. He sold 96-count boxes of pseudoephedrine in cases of 12 boxes for $150 a case. He admitted making a profit of $6,000 each month selling the product. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute pseudoephedrine, a schedule-1 listed chemical, and four counts of distribution of pseudoephedrine. He could have been sentenced to 20 years on each count and $250,000 in fines on each count.

In Missouri - An almost two-year investigation into a multi-million dollar Meth ring wrapped up with 17 men arrested.  "Operation Buckshot" also netted officials 38-pounds of Meth, 89 guns, four cars and more than $100,000.  The suspects include 11-people from Missouri, the others are from California, Kansas, Colorado and Mexico. Each of the suspects is charged with conspiring to distribute Meth, many also face additional drug and weapons charges.

In Virginia – A 47-year-old man was arrested after a raid at his trailer home.  Officers found a Meth lab in his bedroom.
Police discovered a first Meth lab in the same man’s home on May 29.

In Iowa – A 46-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested on Meth manufacturing charges.
They were taken into custody after officers who searched a rural home found Meth and the ingredients to make more.  The man was arrested on similar charges last December.

In Texas – Officers made a Meth bust in a
garage apartment and arrested a 26-year-old man.  When police raided the apartment, they fund Meth precursors, items related to Meth sales, Meth oil and a small amount of finished Meth.

In Missouri - A house exploded while authorities were investigating a suspected Meth lab. A man and woman who fled the scene were arrested nearby.  Officers were executing an arrest warrant at the house when a man appeared behind the home and shot at them. None of the officers were injured. The explosion occurred during the commotion

In California - A couple pleaded not guilty to the murder of an infant who was violently shaken after going into a Meth-induced seizure.  The baby’s 28-year-old mother and her 32-year-old boyfriend were charged after the 8-month-old boy died at a hospital.  The woman told police she accidentally wiped the boy's nose with a cotton swab used to clean a Meth pipe. The infant's skull was fractured and his arm broken when the man tried to revive him by violently shaking him.

In South Carolina – Authorities arrested seven people accused of running five Meth labs.  The suspects face charges ranging from Meth manufacturing to possession to unlawful disposal of Meth lab waste.  During the raids, officers found 10-pounds of ephedrine powder.  They also discovered buried Meth-making materials, including an ammonia tank.
