In Tennessee – Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 32-year-old man on outstanding warrants and discovered a Meth lab a trailer parked at his environmental services business.  The man reportedly had Meth in his pocket when he was arrested, and in addition to the lab, deputies found several guns in a truck on the property.

In Mississippi/Alabama - A former judge who pleaded guilty to possessing Meth precursors was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by five-years of supervised release. The defendant, who served on the bench as a district judge in Alabama, was arrested last year in Mississippi.  He still faces drug charges in Alabama, where authorities found Meth in his office following his arrest.  A woman co-defendant pleaded guilty to Meth charges and agreed to testify against the former judge.  Charges are pending against his wife, who was arrested on Meth charges four months before her husband was picked up.

In Missouri - A 32-year-old man faces charges of intent to manufacture Meth, trafficking in stolen identities and robbery.   He first caught law enforcement’s attention last April when a deputy responding to a report of suspicious people walking along a road stopped and questioned three people, including the defendant.  At the time, he had ingredients for Meth in his possession and a black bag with the chemicals and some equipment for Meth manufacturing.  In May, a police officer stopped a car for having incorrect tags.  The defendant was driving and was arrested when he could not produce a driver’s license.  When the officer performed a search of the vehicle, he found a wallet under the driver’s seat containing four other people’s identification cards, and two checks, two Social Security cards, two credit cards and an electronic benefits card belonging to other people.

In Virginia - A 32-year-old Mexican grocery store owner was sentenced to 17½ years in federal prison for running Meth from his store. His accomplice and a torture victim, a 33-year-old woman, will serve 14 years for fronting much of the Meth to other sellers.  When she fell behind on paying the storeowner for the Meth supply, a vanload of Hispanic men pulled her off a street and torched her toes.  She testified, “I was told that if I didn’t come up with the money or come up with drugs, I would be raped and chopped into bits and put in a bag.”  Prosecutors were unable to prove the storeowner ordered the attack, so he was acquitted on those charges. Six other defendants have been sentence in the case.

In Montana - A 21-year-old man faces a mandatory 10-years to life in federal prison for trafficking Meth. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess Meth for distribution His mother is serving a 3.5-year federal prison sentence after being convicted of Meth distribution.

In Florida – Officers following up a tip about a Meth lab noticed a chemical odor wafting from a trailer and got a search warrant for the property.  Police found an active Meth lab, three firearms and 347.2-grams (about 12-ounces) of Meth in solution.  A 30-year-old man was arrested on Meth trafficking and weapons charges.
