In
Nevada – The man who made national news when evidence tying him to a
videotape of a 2-year-old girl being sexually assaulted turned up blames
Meth for much of his problems. The child, now 7, is with her mother and
is fine; the man who allegedly abused the girl has been arrested. The
tape came to light when a man turned it over to authorities while involved
in a drug court. Sheriff’s officers say the man, charged with possession
of child pornography, held onto the tape for months, knowing it was proof
of a crime against children. A defense attorney claims his client was
using Meth at the time, and that made him paranoid about law
enforcement.
In
Alabama – Officers who pulled a car over for a routine stop discovered
crystal Meth and ecstasy tablets in the vehicle. They also discovered
paraphernalia, including Meth pipes. The two men in the car were arrested
on possession charges.
In
New Zealand -
Two massive hauls of
Meth were seized at the border. Police and customs officials netted 150
kilograms of Meth – just over 330-pounds – as well as a large quantity of
pseudoephedrine. The pseudoephedrine was discovered hidden in roofing
tiles. Two men have been charged. Customs officials say the drugs were
destined for Meth labs and local dealers.In
Louisiana - A
family is accused of cooking Meth at their house. A 43-year-old man, his
36-year-old wife and their 18-year-old son were all arrested during a
search of their home. They each face charges o running a Meth lab,
possessing Meth with the intent to deliver and conspiracy.
In
Kentucky - Two people accused of shipping large amounts of Meth
through the mail have been arrested. The men, 66- and 36-years-old, face
preliminary felony charges of Meth dealing. Authorities followed the
two’s activity for months before raiding a hotel room they were staying
in. A search turned up 3.2-grams of Meth packaged for sale, more than
$2,600 in cash, a glass smoking pipe and a radio frequency detector. Both
men had felony narcotic warrants out for their arrests on previous
charges.
In
Mississippi - Two men on the U.S. Marshals Most Wanted list have been
arrested and are charged with Meth manufacturing in a motel. Marshals
found the 54-year-old man and his 27-year-old nephew when an agent
recognized the older man working on a car in the motel parking lot. They
executed a search warrant and found an active Meth lab in their room and a
larger mobile lab inside their van. Officers also came across newspaper
clippings of articles describing the two as suspects on the Most Wanted
list.
In
Arkansas -
Investigators following up a tip on Meth manufacturing gathered enough
evidence to get a search warrant for the house. Officers found a large
Meth lab in the home and arrested a 52-year-old man on charges of Meth
possession with intent to deliver. Deputies also found three guns, 4- to
5-pounds of marijuana, and finished Meth in the house.
In
Kansas –
One of two underage people was taken into custody after a traffic stop.
The officer discovered 12-grams of suspected Meth in the car. One
youngster was placed at a state Juvenile Detention Center.
