The Methamphetamine Awareness and Prevention Project, South Dakota, is a
groundbreaking program developed and managed by Prairie View Prevention
Services, Inc. Funded by the Department of Justice, MAPP-SD is currently
the only project of its type in the United States. The program encourages
communities to form coalitions of citizens, business and community
leaders, law enforcement and faith based organizations to examine Meth
issues in their community.
Working together
with a professionally trained Community Coalition Coordinator, they will
develop projects aimed at increasing the awareness of the dangers of Meth
and educate the public on how they can become involved.
MAPP-SD community
based coalitions provide materials to support local efforts, serve as a
resource for information on the awareness and prevention of Meth in
neighborhoods and as a source of educational trainings for community,
regional and statewide groups.
